At the end of the implementation period of the „Healthy aging and Dementia – better life“ project, the Special Hospital for Psychiatric Diseases „Dr Slavoljub Bakalovic“ Vrsac, as the Leading beneficiary, has organized a promotional conference in which the results of the project were presented. Prim. doctor Tatjana Voskresenski spoke on behalf of the SHPD Vrsac as the Leading beneficiary and mr Silviu Tinca and dr. Violeta Morosoi adressed the attendees through video-conferencing, on behalf of the County Emergency Hospital from Resita.

The SHPD Vrsac is implementing this project through Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania-serbia Programme since May 2019. After 30 months of the implementation period, the project has been successfully finished with significant and permanent results, such as: the construction of a new department, with an area of 1000 sqm – the Centre for Dementia within the SHPD Vrsac, with a capacity of 30 beds, build in accordance with all modern standards of the Republic of Serbia and of the European union.

During the course of the project an awareness campaign regarding Dementia was implemented, along with the information about negative consequences of stigmatization of persons suffering from Dementia, events and trainings were organized for medical experts and in Resita, medical equipment was procured. Expert medical software was made and implemented, through which medical experts from both sides of the border may exchange experiences, knowledge, while providing higher quality health care to patients suffering from Dementia.
